Get Free Vision Planning Guide

WOW! We have a little over a week left before we will be ushering in a new year – 2017.

I did not realize when God placed these scriptures on my heart in October 2015, how my life would change:

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17 NIV)

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:36 NIV)

He spoke these scriptures to me right before I hosted the first ReImprint Your Life Conference. I can say that day heighten my awareness around freedom and liberation. At the conference, I shared that I had resigned from my part-time position and was focusing on being a full-time business owner (remind you-this is the second time).

This year has been one of self-acceptance, self-awareness and self-leadership.

Self-Acceptance

I learned that I had to accept who I was and who I had been created to be. I had spent a lot of my life living up to societal norms, religious norms and my family expectations. I had accepted labels placed on my by others and wearing them as if they fit. One day I looked in the mirror and looked at the reflection and realized that I needed to accept who I was before anyone else would.

I accept who I am.

Self-Awareness

I truly began to own my stuff and have self-compassion. I have gained more clarity about my personality, strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, motivation, and emotions. The expectations that I have set for others was actually my way of trying to control the outcome so that I would not be hurt or disappointed. I have learned to accept my own humanness, which helps me to accept the humanness of others.

I am aware of who I am.

Self-Leadership

Self leadership has been defined as “having a developed sense of who you are, what you can do, where you are going coupled with the ability to influence your communication, emotions and behaviors on the way to getting there” (Bryant and Kazan, 2012). As I have gained a sense of who I am and what I was created to do, I have been able to connect with others to help “us” achieve our goals.

I lead who I am.

In January, I was blessed with the opportunity to participate in a 6 month Mastermind Group. I did not really know what to expect but it has birthed the opportunity to build connections and relationships with my Freedom Friends -“Sankofa Sisterhood”. It paid off to be the only one that showed up at 7AM (CST) on a Saturday mornings.

I am excited about what 2017 is bringing.

Next week I will be introducing my Vision Planning Guide…look out for it.
